Requirements for .fr
The Registrant and Administrator contact must have a local address within the European Union
The technical contact must be different from the registrant contact
.FR is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) in the DNS for France.
The .FR TLD was introduced 1986 and was managed by Afnic since 1998.
On December 2011 certain registration rules have changed and the TLD became available to all members of, EU companies or individuals, as well as those residing in Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
.FR already has over 2.8 million registered domain names, and records show 82% of French Internet users will search in the .FR TLD for corporate websites.
All users have a right to query and rectify information about them in their account management panel.
